Procon now seeks a Junior Architect/ Engineer for a long term opportunity in the Norfolk, VA area.  This role requires various skills and experience as listed below. This role is ideal for an emerging professional who brings a solid foundation of architectural practice and a passion for thoughtful, user‑centered design. Candidates should demonstrate strong technical skills, creativity, and an interest in contributing to a collaborative design environment.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills

  • Architectural license preferred but not required; candidates on the licensure track are encouraged to apply.

  • Experience working within an institution of higher education or comparable institutional environment is preferred, though not required.

  • Proficiency with industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite).

  • Strong problem‑solving abilities and excellent communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team setting while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.

  • Approximately three years of professional architectural experience, ideally including exposure to space planning, interior renovation, and project coordination.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Support the development of architectural designs from concept through construction.

  • Assist in space planning and programming for a variety of interior and renovation projects.

  • Prepare design documents, presentations, and technical drawings.

  • Contribute to interior renovation projects, including material selection, detailing, and coordination with consultants.

  • Participate in project management activities, such as scheduling, documentation, and communication with vendors and internal stakeholders.

  • Conduct field verification, site observations, and assist with construction administration tasks.

  • Collaborate with senior architects, facility planners, and project teams to ensure design quality and adherence to project goals.
