Aerospace Mechanical Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Aerospace Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and manufacture of aerospace components and systems. This role plays a key part in ensuring our products meet strict performance, quality, and regulatory requirements while remaining cost-effective and manufacturable. The ideal candidate thrives in a hands-on manufacturing environment and works well across engineering, quality, and production teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and development: Create detailed blueprints, models, and specifications for aerospace components and assemblies using CAD tools (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, NX)
- Analysis & Testing: Capable of performing stress, static and dynamic simulations. Time studies and manufacturing improvement strategies.
- Perform mechanical analysis including stress, fatigue, vibration, and thermal assessments
- Ensure compliance with aerospace regulations, customer specifications, and quality standards (AS9100, FAA, EASA as applicable)
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and production-ready
- Support first article inspections (FAI), nonconformance investigations, and corrective actions
- Assist with tooling, fixturing, and process development for production
- Work with suppliers on component selection, technical reviews, and qualification activities
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
3–7 years of experience in aerospace or high-reliability manufacturing environments (experience level flexible)
Proficiency in 3D CAD and engineering drawing creation
Strong understanding of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical design principles
Experience with structural analysis, tolerance analysis, and GD&T
Basic understanding of Document Control, and the change order process methodology.
Familiarity with aerospace quality systems and documentation requirements
Ability to interpret customer specifications and regulatory requirements
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
Pay range: $70,000-$95,000
