Overview 

Strategic Legal Practices is seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead, manage, and evolve the firm’s technology infrastructure. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of IT operations, cybersecurity, and systems administration while supporting attorneys and staff in a high-performance legal environment. 

The IT Manager will serve as the firm’s primary technology leader—owning strategy, execution, vendor relationships and coordinating with our IT service partners.

Key Responsibilities 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Lead and manage all firm-wide IT operations, infrastructure, and support functions. 
  • Provide advanced technical support to attorneys and staff across hardware, software, and connectivity issues. 
  • Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable IT systems aligned with firm growth. 
  • Administer and optimize firm-wide platforms, including Microsoft 365 (Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, Power Automate), document management systems, and legal practice management software. 
  • Oversee cybersecurity strategy, data protection, system backups, disaster recovery, and compliance with legal and regulatory standards. 
  • Manage user access controls, permissions, and security protocols for all systems. 
  • Oversee device provisioning, configuration, deployment, and lifecycle management. 
  • Maintain comprehensive IT inventory records for hardware, software licenses, and related assets. 
  • Lead technology-related onboarding and offboarding processes for employees. 
  • Manage and coordinate third-party vendors, MSPs, and technology service providers. 
  • Evaluate, select, and implement new technology solutions to improve productivity, efficiency, and security. 
  • Develop and document IT policies, procedures, and best practices. 
  • Monitor system performance, identify risks, and proactively address technical issues. 
  • Provide guidance, training, and technical leadership to staff as needed. 

Compensation: $100,000 - $130,000/per year

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred). 
  • 5+ years of progressive IT experience, including leadership or management responsibilities. 
  • Prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment strongly preferred. 
  • Deep understanding of networking, servers, cloud-based systems, and cybersecurity best practices. 
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft 365 administration and cloud collaboration tools. 
  • Familiarity with legal document management and practice management platforms (e.g., NetDocuments, Clio). 
  • Proven experience managing vendors, budgets, and technology initiatives. 
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills. 
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users. 
  • Self-directed, accountable, and capable of managing priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and staying current with technology trends.
