We are hiring a seasoned Sales Engineer to work on the front lines of Loft’s business development efforts. In this role, you will act as the technical translator and driver of clarity between customers and internal engineering teams, owning technical customer engagements end-to-end—from early discussions on mission or payload requirements to through contract signature. This role is ideal for someone coming from a modern space service or mission provider environment who thrives in fast-moving, ambiguous settings and communicates complex ideas with precision.
About this role:
Lead customer conversations in English with confidence and clarity, translating mission needs into crisp technical requirements and clear next steps.
Deeply understand Loft Orbital’s technical solution ecosystem, including satellite platforms, in-orbit capabilities, mission services, and operations to communicate and discuss mission solutions, accommodations, and design tradeoffs concisely to both customers and engineers.
Evaluate customer design and interface requirements for physical and on-demand missions, aligning with Loft’s program offerings and technical specifications
Drive the development of customer-specific technical solutions, asking the right questions throughout the sales process to align on program expectations.
Own technical proposal content end-to-end, including preliminary architectures, mission analyses, and written narratives that are structured, clear, and mission-oriented.
Act as the primary coordination point between Business Development and Engineering—analyzing customer requirements, synthesizing information, building alignment, and pushing discussions to outcomes rather than open-ended exploration.
Must Haves:
~5+ years of experience in systems engineering, mission operations, or aerospace engineering, ideally working on LEO satellite programs.
Some experience with evaluation of satellite payloads, mission planning, and CONOPS.
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly, concisely, and confidently in English, both verbally and in writing.
Experience working across functions in fast-paced organizations, where priorities shift and ambiguity is common.
Strong systems-level thinking with the ability to quickly understand new architectures, tools, and internal processes.
Proven ability to drive structure, clarity, and momentum in technical discussions with customers and internal teams.
Comfortable operating hands-on in modern tools, internal systems, and lightweight processes typical of scaling startups.
••Passion for the commercial space industry and enthusiasm for working directly with customers.

Prior experience in customer-facing technical roles (sales engineering, solutions engineering, mission architecture, customer programs).Demonstrated experience with a variety of LEO missions, including Earth Observation.
