Position Summary:
Key Skills and Qualities for Success:
- Assisting in the management of sales and use tax audits, including gathering documentation, responding to auditor inquiries, and negotiating settlements.
- Conducting research on complex sales and use tax issues and providing guidance on tax implications to clients.
- Handling the preparation and filing of sales and use tax returns for multiple jurisdictions.
- Monitoring changes in tax legislation and staying informed on current market trends to uphold your reputation as a reliable advisor.
- Understanding clients' business activities and fostering strong relationships to provide personalized advice tailored to their unique needs.
To be considered for the position, you must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in sales and use tax, preferably including a senior role.
- In-depth knowledge of state and local sales and use tax regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Excel.
- Proficient in tax research tools.
Preferred, but not required, skills and achievements:
- An achieved or partially achieved CPA or CMI qualification or the ability to sit for the bar, or actively working toward one of the three.
- Proficiency in Alteryx, Power BI, and/or other data manipulation and transformation software.
