Description
We’re looking for a reliable, creative, and empathetic Chef to join our team part-time and oversee meal preparation at our NYC location. This isn’t just a kitchen job - it’s a chance to nourish people in recovery, provide comfort through food, and be a consistent presence in their healing journey.
You’ll work closely with the residential staff to plan and prepare delicious, balanced meals for our clients, ensuring they are well-fed and well-cared for in our residential settings.
Job Responsibilities
Meal Planning & Preparation
- Create and cook nutritious, tasty meals that meet client dietary needs and preferences
- Maintain a weekly meal schedule and coordinate the timing of meals
- Prepare lunch and dinner daily, occasionally supporting breakfast or weekend planning
Inventory & Ordering
- Manage grocery orders, kitchen inventory, and supplies
- Coordinate with vendors and delivery services to maintain stock
Monitor food freshness and ensure proper food safety practices
Kitchen Management
- Keep kitchens clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards
- Occasionally support clients in learning basic cooking or kitchen skills as part of their recovery experience
- Collaborate with house staff to ensure kitchen environments are welcoming and inclusive
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with program director, operations, and support staff to align food service with program needs
- Adapt meals and schedules as needed for house events, client preferences, or seasonal availability

- Organized, dependable, and able to manage your time independently
