The Vice President of Maintenance is responsible for the overall performance of the Company's fixed operations, ensuring that each service facility meets both short and long-range objectives and appropriately contributes to Company goals.
Requirements
You Will:
- Set monthly and annual budgets for department expenses, as well as monthly and annual service sales budgets. Utilize Company systems to accurately track sales, production, and performance vs. objectives.
- Determine both short and long term staffing requirements for production and support personnel in all service shops.
- Develop procedures to implement company policies, practices, and standards for shop(s) hours of operation, pay plans and pay levels, employee training, standards of performance and productivity, equipment maintenance, computer systems relating to the maintenance business, and ultimately responsible for successful handling of all maintenance customers.
- Meet with direct reports monthly and review their performance vs. objectives. Counsel/Mentor team members who fail to meet their objectives and assist them in implementing plans for improvement.
- Guide Regional Maintenance Managers and individual Shop Service Managers, as well as other Maintenance staff, in developing and executing specific policies and procedures related to Customer Satisfaction Standards, Warranty Administration, expense controls, sales performance, and departmental coordination within and outside fixed.
- Provide training for Maintenance team in management skills including communication skills, personnel time management, customer and factory relations, and personnel evaluations among others.
- Oversee all decisions on major repairs both in-house and sublet.
- Oversee all fixed operation facilities and equipment, including maintenance and parts.
- Establish and maintain productive working relationships with vehicle manufacturer's representatives, suppliers and other vendors.
- Administer the Warranty and Policy Program including Recalls, Campaigns and Service Bulletins. Will also administer the Parts and Tire Programs.
- Perform management inspections on a regular basis while visiting individual service locations.
- Oversee each department's compliance with federal, state, and local fire, safety, and environmental regulations, including by not limited to DOT, OSHA, MSDS, Fuel Spills, and Right to Know as needed by the Company.
- Ensure that all federal, state and local regulations regarding wage and hour guidelines and employee/employer relations are properly administered.
- Be hands-on leader while working with Management and Maintenance.
- Oversee the implementation and operation of Company systems including: Company Road Call System, Preventative Maintenance Program, Shop Purchase Order System, and Diagnostic Computer Systems.
- Oversee all expenses and purchasing programs for shop equipment, parts, tools, etc.
You Have:
- Experience leading and managing over Ten (10) Diesel maintenance shops located across multiple states in the northeastern United States.
- Ten plus (10) years of experience in Diesel Truck repair and maintenance.
- Ten (10) years of leadership and management experience.
- Excellent communication (oral and written), analytical and leadership skills.
- Ability to operate the overall maintenance department profitably and in accordance with Company guidelines.
- Valid Driver's License and a good driving record is required. (A commercial driver's license may be required for heavy truck).
- Ability to travel 20% of the time visiting maintenance shops as needed.
- Experience in Full-Service Leasing is strongly preferred.
- High school diploma required. College Degree preferred.
