Description
We’re an indie board game company based in London. From quiz games to drawing games, TV game shows to mobile apps, we like to turn our hands to all sorts. No matter what the project, we always try to stick to one golden rule: to make sure our games are easy to understand, fun to play and guaranteed to get the party started.
We’re looking for a proactive, self-sufficient Social Content Manager to join us in Germany. This is an exciting early hire as we begin building Big Potato Germany, working alongside our first Germany-based sales hire.
You’ll be someone who loves getting hands-on; a creative doer who’s ready to take ownership, grow quickly and help shape our presence in a brand-new market. This is a middleweight role, ideal for someone stepping up from a junior position and looking to make a real impact within a small, ambitious team.
You’ll be joining from Germany, but our HQ remains in London — so expect a handful of trips each year to connect with the wider team and get stuck into key projects.
What will you be doing?
Internal Content:
- Lead and manage our German TikTok and Instagram channels.
- Build and plan a monthly content calendar aligned with product launches, key occasions, and wider campaign activity.
- Film, edit and post high-performing social content tailored to TikTok and Instagram.
- Produce edits and cutdowns using content from partner creators.
- Track and report on key social performance metrics each month.
External Content:
Affiliates:
- Manage our TikTok Shop affiliate programme, including outreach, sending samples, and supporting creators.
- Work with the Performance Marketing team to identify creator content suitable for paid ads or GMV Max.
Influencers:
- Work with mid- to large-scale influencers/creators to develop content that drives awareness.
- Negotiate rates and contracts, and manage content approvals from start to finish.
- Report on key performance metrics for affiliates and influencer content each month.
UGC:
- Partner with the Head of Content and Performance Marketing team to determine what UGC is needed for upcoming ads.
- Write clear briefs and launch them on our UGC platform.
- Manage UGC creators — reviewing applicants, giving feedback, requesting tweaks, and approving final content.
Who are we looking for?
Here at Big Potato we acknowledge that Potatoes come in all shapes and sizes, we are an equal opportunities employer with a range of flexible working practices and all applications are considered on their own merit.

Requirements
What Is Essential:
- Strong experience filming and editing videos for TikTok and Instagram, with an ability to create fun, engaging, and on-brand content.
- A deep understanding of TikTok, Instagram and wider social trends — what’s working, why it works and how to adapt trends for a brand voice.
- Experience working with creators or influencers through coordinating deliverables, reviewing content, giving feedback and managing timelines.
- Some familiarity with TikTok Shop or creator commerce platforms (doesn’t need to be expert-level, just proof of understanding the basics).
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects, deadlines and content calendars.
- Awareness of German cultural trends, humour, and consumer behaviour to create content that feels relevant and rooted in the market.
- Native or fluent German, plus strong English communication skills.
What Is Desirable:
- Previous experience managing a TikTok Shop affiliate programme or a similar content-based e-commerce setup.
- Basic understanding of social performance metrics (views, engagement rate, CPMs, CTRs) and how to use them to optimise content.
- Experience writing briefs, reviewing UGC, or collaborating with performance marketing teams on content for ads.
- Experience creating content for a brand or within a creative agency environment.
- A genuine interest in pop culture, internet trends, or lifestyle entertainment — something that shows you "get" what makes content fun and shareable.
Work Pattern: This role will start primarily remote, with 1–2 days each month in a co-working space. As the German team grows over the next 1–2 years, we expect to gradually increase in-person time to around 1–2 days per week.
