Foley is undergoing a major transformation of its technology platform, delivery pipelines, and cloud‑native architecture and we are seeking a Director of Engineering, Cloud and Platform to help us accomplish our goals. This role leads our modernization efforts by building the scalable, secure, automated infrastructure that powers our next generation of products. You will define and deliver our Internal Developer Platform, drive cloud infrastructure automation, embed DevSecOps practices, and ensure our systems are resilient, observable, and able to scale effectively.
What you'll do
- Lead cloud architecture modernization by driving containerization, service migration, infrastructure-as-code, automated provisioning, and event-driven design.
- Develop and enforce infrastructure standards including guardrails, reference architectures, and operational guidelines for product teams.
- Scale secure CI/CD pipelines and embed DevSecOps practices such as automated security testing, dependency scanning, and secrets management.
- Build and evolve the Internal Developer Platform (IDP) to streamline developer workflows, improve productivity, and provide reusable components for product and data teams.
- Drive reliability and observability through SRE practices, actionable monitoring, SLOs, error budgets, and improved on-call and release-readiness processes.
- Hire, develop, and lead a high-performing Cloud & Platform Engineering team, fostering technical excellence, coaching, career growth, and strong cross-functional partnerships.
Who you are
- You have 8+ years of progressive engineering experience, including 3+ years leading cloud, platform, DevOps, or SRE teams.
- You have deep expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK, Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation ).
- You have hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline automation, Git-based workflows, and security automation.
- You have designed and operated highly available, scalable, secure systems and understand modern cloud-native patterns.
- You might thrive in this role if you have led platform modernization efforts in a product-driven organization and enjoy balancing strategic leadership with hands-on technical work.
- Bonus: experience in regulated environments; ownership of cloud migrations; background in SRE/operations; familiarity with microservices, API gateways, service mesh, and distributed systems.
Location: This role is primarily remote (US based) and will work in EST hours, with the expectation of occasional visits to our Hartford, CT and Boston, MA offices for team collaboration, training, or company events.
This role may be based remotely out of the following states: Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, or New York

Compensation
The base compensation range for this position is $190,000 - $220,000 annually. Actual compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
