Description
The Head of Ecommerce for GUESS is responsible for leading the commercial performance, campaign execution, onsite merchandising, and content operations for the Guess.com digital flagship. This role ensures that our .com business delivers premium brand experience, strong conversion, and profitable growth across Europe and emerging online markets.
The role oversee the full ecommerce trading cycle, owning the trading calendar, driving daily performance actions, and ensuring all onsite content and merchandising reflect GUESS’s fashion DNA, commercial priorities, and customer expectations. A strong commercial mindset is essential, with analytical skills, leveraging data to optimize conversion, product performance, and campaign results.
Core Responsibilities
1. Own GUESS .com Commercial Performance
- Accountability for Guess.com business KPIs: revenue, conversion rate, AOV, margin, traffic productivity, and inventory sell-through.
- Lead weekly trading: analyze performance, identify opportunities, escalate risks, and drive actionable improvements.
- Optimize product availability, pricing, and offers in partnership with Planning, Buying.
- Ensure operational readiness and stock accuracy with Logistics, OMS, and Warehousing teams.
2. Lead .com Campaign Strategy & Execution
- Own the annual digital campaign and promotional calendar for Guess.com.
- Plan and execute seasonal, promotional, and brand campaigns (e.g., denim, lingerie drops, holiday, collabs).
- Partner with Brand Marketing, CRM, Performance Marketing, Creative Studio, and Retail teams to deliver consistent, 360° activations.
- Monitor campaign performance daily, optimizing content, offers, and onsite placements to achieve targets.
- Deliver high-impact ecommerce storytelling aligned with GUESS brand guidelines.
3. Onsite Merchandising & Product Optimization
- Manage all onsite merchandising strategies:
- category architecture
- product ranking & rules
- cross-selling and recommendations
- onsite search performance
- Drive category and product insights to maximize sell-through and minimize markdown reliance.
- Improve PDP and PLP experience through content, size guides, visual standards, attributes, and product tagging.
- Ensure commercial and brand priorities are consistently reflected in onsite product presentation.
4. Content Ownership & Site Experience
- Full accountability for Guess.eu content execution:
- homepage & landing pages
- navigation & taxonomy
- campaign assets
- editorial content
- Own the content calendar and ensure timely, high-quality publishing aligned with commercial milestones.
- Partner with Creative Studio to brief assets and maintain GUESS visual standards.
- Implement strong content QA, governance, and performance monitoring.
- Ensure content is optimized for SEO, user experience, and speed, across desktop and mobile.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership
- Lead and develop a team across ecommerce trading, merchandising, site management, and content operations.
- Collaborate closely with:
- Digital Marketing (acquisition, paid media)
- CRM & Loyalty
- Creative & Brand
- UX/UI & Digital Product
- Planning, Buying & Allocation
- Logistics & Operations
- Ensure alignment with retail commercial strategy and omni-channel priorities.
- Represent .com priorities in senior leadership meetings.
Requirements
- 7–10+ years of ecommerce experience, ideally in fashion, premium/lifestyle, or multi-country DTC.
- Proven experience driving .com commercial performance and trading KPI ownership.
- Strong background in ecommerce merchandising and content operations.
- Advanced analytical skills.
- Experience managing large seasonal calendars and fast-paced campaign execution.
- Strong fashion and product sensitivity and ability to translate brand identity into digital commerce.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Comfortable in a high-growth, fast-moving, and globally driven environment.
