POSITION DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking an Accountant Analyst to support financial operations across a growing portfolio of software companies. This role combines hands-on accounting work with

analytical responsibilities to ensure accurate financial reporting, reliable data, and consistent financial processes.

You will collaborate closely with the Portfolio Finance Team, local Managing Directors, and cross-functional colleagues to support daily accounting operations, strengthen financial controls, and contribute to reporting and analysis activities across the business. This is a remote role based in Germany, with occasional collaboration across European and global teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Record daily financial transactions and maintain accurate general ledger entries • Prepare supporting schedules and assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities • Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet items, and intercompany transactions • Support the preparation of financial statements and internal management reports • Analyse variances, trends, and financial data to support operational and strategic decision-making • Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable activity and identify issues requiring attention • Prepare journal entries and maintain associated documentation • Assist with cash flow tracking, forecasting inputs, and liquidity monitoring • Maintain financial records to ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements • Provide analytical support for budgeting and forecasting cycles • Assist with external audits, tax submissions, and compliance reviews as required • Work with internal teams to collect financial data and improve reporting accuracy • Support process improvements, standardisation, and automation initiatives within the finance function • Contribute to financial onboarding and data alignment for newly acquired companies • Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field • 2–4 years of relevant accounting or financial analysis experience • Strong understanding of accounting principles (German GAAP / IFRS) • Proficiency with ERP or accounting systems • Strong Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, formulas) • Detail-oriented with strong organisational and analytical skills • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally

• Fluent in English and German (written and verbal) • Based in Germany and able to work fully remotely

ADDITIONAL OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in a software, SaaS, or multi-entity environment • Experience supporting tax submissions or external audits • Exposure to financial integrations or data migration projects • Familiarity with process standardisation or automation tools
