Are you looking for a rewarding career in IT operations and service management? OpenText is seeking a highly motivated Senior Solution Consultant – ITSM & Discovery to join our IT Operations Management (OSM) team. In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor and presales leader, helping organizations modernize IT operations, optimize service delivery, and establish accurate, actionable service and configuration models through OpenText’s OSM portfolio.
You will engage with enterprise accounts, leading discovery workshops, delivering tailored demonstrations and proof-of-concepts (POCs), and presenting value propositions to CxO and IT leadership audiences. You will connect technology with business outcomes, helping customers achieve total service visibility, automation, and improved operational efficiency.
What the role offers:
• Serve as the primary technical advisor for enterprise accounts focused on ITSM and Discovery/CMDB initiatives.
• Lead discovery workshops to understand customer processes, visibility challenges, and operational objectives.
• Map OpenText SMAX and UCMDB capabilities to customer goals, emphasizing automation, service correlation, and impact analysis.
• Deliver compelling demonstrations and POCs showcasing integrated ITSM and Discovery workflows.
• Own the technical presales strategy from qualification to closure, ensuring alignment between customer needs and OpenText OSM capabilities.
• Develop and present business cases (ROI/TCO) highlighting measurable outcomes such as reduced incident resolution time and improved service visibility.
• Support RFP/RFI responses with detailed, competitive, and technically sound proposals.
• Collaborate with account executives, product management, and services to drive successful customer engagements.
• Partner with internal teams to share best practices, insights, and success stories that enhance presales knowledge and execution quality.
• Represent OpenText as a subject matter expert at industry events, webinars, and customer engagements.
What you need to succeed:
• 7+ years of enterprise presales or solution consulting experience focused on ITSM and Discovery/CMDB.
• Proven ability to build and demonstrate integrated service management and configuration management solutions.
• Deep understanding of IT operations, event management, and automation processes.
• Expertise in ITSM processes, including Incident, Change, Problem, Request, and Knowledge Management.
• Experience designing and implementing modern ITSM architectures with automation and self-service capabilities.
• Knowledge of IT process frameworks such as ITIL 4, IT4IT, and SRE.
• Experience with UCMDB or equivalent platforms (ServiceNow, BMC Helix, Device42, etc.), including modeling dependencies, managing configuration data quality, and enabling service impact visualization.
• Ability to integrate CMDB with ITSM, event, and automation tools for actionable insights.
• Understanding of observability, AIOps, network discovery, and performance monitoring.
• Familiarity with competitors (ServiceNow, BMC, Dynatrace, Splunk, SolarWinds) and ability to position OpenText effectively.
• Strong consultative, presentation, and storytelling skills for technical and executive audiences.
• Self-driven, collaborative, strategic mindset with a passion for technology-led transformation.
Education and Applicable Experience Required:
• University or bachelor’s degree; or equivalent relevant experience.
• Demonstrated achievement in enterprise presales or solution consulting roles.
• Typically, 7+ years in solution consulting or presales with complex, enterprise customers.
• Experience in delivering integrated ITSM, CMDB, and IT operations solutions.
