Schedule: Various part-time options available (8-24 hrs/wk), consistent schedule, every other weekend required, holiday shifts as scheduled/needed (24/7/365)

  • Days: 6:45a-3:15p
  • Evenings: 2:45p-11:15p
  • Overnights: 10:45p-7:15a

Compensation: $19.00-$22.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and credentials.

As a Resident Aide you will: 

  • Support residents of Longview to thrive in an environment to ensure their safety, comfort, and well-being;
  • Take the next steps in your healthcare career through compassionate approach and working closely with residents, family, and the health care team;
  • Assist with daily personal care as well as encouraging resident participation in social and recreational activities;
  • Assist and monitor residents with personal care such as bathing, dressing, incontinent care, laundry, and daily living activities as indicated in their service plan which includes physical and emotional wellbeing;
  • Document resident care notes;
  • Assist residents to and from the dining room;
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and quality of care;
  • Respond promptly to call bell system and complete safety rounds.

Team members who demonstrate patience, a compassionate approach, initiative, and a desire to learn may be eligible for training to assist with medications and advance to a Medication Technician position.

Requirements

  •  At least 18 years of age;
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred;
  • Home Health Aide (HHA), Personal Care Aide (PCA), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) experience preferred;
  • One (1) year of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a medical or healthcare setting;
  • Experience with older adults is preferred; 
  • Willingness to complete medication assistance training preferred;
  • Must be able to communicate clearly, concisely, and with empathy to build rapport and achieve high quality of care with resident, families, co-workers, and other medical professionals;
  • Able to push, pull, lift, and carry trays of food, laundry bags, heavy boxes, and/or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, frequently bending, stooping, and reaching;
  • Satisfactory completion of post-offer, pre-employment physical, including a tuberculin skin test or blood assay.
