As a Senior Global Sourcing Manager, you will lead category strategy and serve as the key driver of the sourcing and product development process from initial concept through on-time delivery. You will develop and implement strategies that maximize revenue, gross margin, and GMROI while ensuring design integrity and brand aesthetics. This role also includes mentoring team members and driving best-in-class processes for efficiency, staffing, and performance.
- Partner in developing the strategic sourcing strategy aligned with corporate initiatives.
- Own execution of product development and sourcing strategies, acting as the primary liaison between Design, Merchandising, Planning, and Suppliers.
- Identify and onboard new factories while developing and training existing vendors.
- Drive product engineering opportunities through fabric, garment construction, vendor/mill, or country alternatives to meet IMU and speed-to-market goals.
- Develop costing strategies and review final costs to meet IMU expectations.
- Manage product development timelines to ensure calendar deliverables are met.
- Oversee demand planning with supply chain to align capacity with volume forecasts.
- Identify and implement opportunities to reduce lead times and support chase strategies.
- Conduct seasonal hindsight reviews with senior leadership to align on supply chain category strategies.
- Mentor and lead team members through coaching, technical training, and process leadership.
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in product development or sourcing.
- 5+ years in a similar role (product manager or sourcing), including 5+ years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
- Comprehensive knowledge of product development, construction, and production.
- Strong vendor management experience and proven ability to negotiate strategic agreements.
- Ability to maximize value while improving quality and service levels.
- Strong influencing, negotiating, and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, PLM and Business Objects.
