Community Safety Officer (CCTV) - Ref: EE10025
Salary: G7, £35,412 to £38,220 per annum
This is a critical role within the Council’s Community Safety Team and is integral to supporting the Council’s Community Safety and Enforcement Services and its broader partners, including West Midlands Police and Transport for West Midlands (TfWM). The successful applicant will assist, co-ordinate and manage community safety initiatives specifically around CCTV surveillance cameras to help reduce and tackle crime, anti-social behaviour and environmental issues. The CCTV service is a key part of our work to tackle anti-social behaviour, crime and environmental offences and make Walsall a safer and green/clean place to live, work and visit.

The role, requirements and responsibilities of the role include:
Operating CCTV systems and a sound knowledge of data recording systems
Experience and awareness in capturing and processing data and images in compliance with GDPR and the commitment to confidentiality
Ability to provide service areas and partners with practical solutions around the use of CCTV surveillance in the workplace
Knowledge and/or experience of issuing fixed penalty notices for littering offences from vehicles
Knowledge and/or experience of preparing paperwork for court under the single Justice Procedure
Posses good organisational and observational skills with the ability to work on own initiative in a sometimes stressful and sensitive environment
Ability to work in a team environment and also work independently with a can-do attitude
Preferably hold a valid SIA Public Space CCTV Licence or willing to undertake comprehensive training to obtain such licence
This role is office/hybrid working in line with the services priorities
