Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute global procurement strategies for assigned categories, balancing cost performance goals with quality standards.
- Lead and develop a team to manage sourcing processes and achieve category objectives.
- Drive strategic procurement initiatives, including supplier performance management, risk mitigation, and capacity planning.
- Establish and manage contractual agreements, including pricing, quality, and master supplier agreements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to drive innovation and support new product introductions.
- Create and implement annual cost reduction plans to meet corporate objectives.
- Support plant purchasing by implementing lean sourcing principles to optimize inventory and ensure material availability.
- Conduct strategic supplier business reviews and manage supplier scorecards.
- Lead the Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) program for assigned categories, developing mitigation plans for identified risks.
- Mentor colleagues and drive continuous improvement in supply chain processes and performance.
Skill/Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 10+ years of purchasing experience in a regulated industry manufacturing environment (medical device preferred). Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven track record in strategic sourcing across a global supply base, with experience in developing and implementing category strategies
- Demonstrated people management skills and cross-functional team leadership experience
- Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and project management in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Thorough knowledge of lean principles and experience with kanban systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent negotiation abilities and a history of achieving cost savings
- Working knowledge of buying, material planning, master scheduling, and forecasting
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and consistently achieve challenging goals
