Summary: 

An Inventory Control Specialist at Pacific Seafood is a key role on our Procurement team supporting efforts to maintain and optimize inventory control of all stock items. This position involves maintaining inventory levels, correcting any errors, and consistently identifying areas for improvement and is ideal for someone who has analytical skills, organizational skills, and is detail orientated.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Inventory Control Management and Analysis:

  • Maintain inventory control by performing morning inventory adjustment duties, including reviewing receiving, processing credits, and reviewing negative quantity reports.
  • Analyze inventory discrepancies for root causes and develop corrective action plans.
  • Develop and maintain controls and procedures to ensure the inventory control process is followed.
  • Perform regular cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
2. Communication and Coordination:
  • Attend morning inventory meetings and interface with vendors, production facilities, and customers to gather and distribute data in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Coordinate with sales, production supervisors, and purchasing to establish proper inventory par levels.
  • Interface with responsible buyers to resolve vendor credits and process daily customer credits.
3. Quality Assurance and Process Improvement:
  • Assure product quality standards are met and inventories are correctly rotated.
  • Identify, report, and assist in the deployment of opportunities for improvement within operations.
  • Control shrinkage on all products with a high focus on in-house production items and track shrink and credits compared to budget goals.
4. Documentation and Reporting:
  • Print and distribute daily fresh inventory sheets.
  • Review parent/child combinations in the mother table and review physical inventory, adjusting where necessary.
  • Actively participate on the Shrink/Credit Team, ensuring accurate reporting and analysis of inventory-related data.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary to support the overall goals and objectives of the position.

What You Bring to Pacific Seafood:

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two or more years of relevant experience

Preferred:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Knowledge of AS400
  • Proficient data entry

  • Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
  • Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
