Reporting to: Manager of Legislative Services / Deputy City Clerk
Department: Clerk’s Department
Classification: Temporary/Contract (approximately 11 months)
Salary Range: $71,475.79 - $85,128.85
Hours of Work: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday
Starting Date: January 2026

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Coordinate and implement all aspects of the municipal and school board election.
  2. Develop and maintain the master election project calendar and related documentation.
  3. Recommend strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure an effective and efficient election process.
  4. Ensure compliance with statutory deadlines and accessibility requirements.
  5. Liaise with provincial and municipal partners, vendors, and stakeholders.
  6. Recruit, train, and supervise temporary election staff; prepare training materials.
  7. Manage voters’ list revisions and updates.
  8. Prepare election materials for candidates and voters.
  9. Oversee procurement, inventory, and distribution of election supplies.
  10. Organize advance voting and election day operations.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Public Administration or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of the Municipal Elections Act, Education Act, Municipal Act, and AODA.
  • Experience in municipal government, preferably in elections.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Class “G” Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle.
  • Availability for evening and weekend work during peak election periods.

Working Conditions:

  • Usual public office conditions. 
  • Works regular office hours and overtime as needed during peak election periods
