We are seeking a reliable, and resourceful Student Engagement Coordinator to enhance vocational, recreational, and social-emotional learning for our special needs students ages 14-22 yrs. In this role, you’ll report to our School Resource Manager and work closely with teachers, therapists, and other staff to implement hands-on administrative, logistical, and instructional support to ensure high quality student experiences and program efficiency. Hours are Mon-Fri 8:00am-3:00pm.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Must be willing to regularly drive a passenger van for student outings; requires valid CA drivers license and clean driving record.
  • Assist in planning and executing student outings, vocational activities, and special events.
  • Support creation of materials such as visual supports, social stories, and pre-engagement content.
  • Help maintain and organize the vocational classroom (setup, cleanup, supplies, scheduling).
  • Track student attendance and staff feedback using Google Forms and data tools.
  • Support with logistics for transportation, supplies, and communication with community partners.
  • Attend events and outings to support students and classroom staff as needed.
  • Help prepare and distribute staff training materials and handouts.
  • Collect feedback from staff and students to help evaluate program success.
  • Provide basic clerical support (emails, printing, organizing files, scheduling meetings).
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and student-centered approach in all activities.
  • Attendance – Due to the nature of this position, you must have reliable attendance.
  • Perform PACE van readiness checks (fueling, supply stocking, basic cleaning)
  • You may need to assist a student with hygiene and/or potty training.
  • Report maintenance needs and track work orders or repairs related to classrooms or recess areas.

Knowledge, Skill and Experience:

The Instructional Aide must possess the following minimum requirements.

  • Age – 18 years of age or older
  • Education – High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required, AA or BA preferred. Strong competency in English writing and communication (e.g. speaking, reading and writing).
  • Requires knowledge of G-Suite applications and email
  • Medical – Must have a physical and TB screening test prior to employment and routinely during employment as required.
  • Live Scan Clearance – Must possess and maintain a clear DOJ and FBI clearance prior to and during employment (paid by PACE)
  • Must be willing to take a pre-employment drug screen due to the driver requirement (paid by PACE)

Physical Requirements

The Student Engagement Coordinator must be able to comply with and adhere to the following physical requirements.

  • Pushing and Pulling – The Instructional Aide must be able to lift and or push at least 35lbs.
  • Twisting and Turning – Due to the high activity of the program this position requires the individual to be able to physically bend, squat, reach over shoulders, reach over head, reach outward, kneel, sit, walk, run on normal, slippery, or uneven surfaces and stand.
  • Safety Care – After training, must be able to follow all Safety Care Procedures when needed.
  • Use keyboards and mouse, type, write, use a PC or laptop.
