Overview:
The Operations Assistant is responsible for monitoring the conditions of six dance studios on a daily basis, and assisting with efficient operations of all Dance Division classes, rehearsals, meetings, and events that take place within those studios. They are additionally responsible for reception, secretarial, and clerical functions required within the Division, as well as assisting the faculty, students, and guest artists of the Division. This position acts as an assistant to the Dean & Director, Associate Director, Administrative Director, and Assistant Administrative Director of the Division.
This role reports to the Assistant Administrative Director. The hours are typically 8:30am-4:30pm Mon-Fri in-person. Some evenings & weekends may be required.
The salary range for this role is $48,000-$50,000 annually.

Role Responsibilities:
- Monitors and maintains studios: checks floors, room temperature, and set-up every morning before classes and throughout the day as needed; communicates with Facilities Office regarding any studio-related issues; re-tapes floor seams as needed
- Performs basic troubleshooting for studio audio-visual systems and assists faculty & guest artists with usage of technology in the studios; submits A/V service requests to IT and/or Recording as needed
- Assists with Dance Division events and meeting set-up/strike and coordination
- Acts as primary contact for administrative support to the Division staff, faculty, students, and guest artists and public on a daily basis, including responding to the Dance Division general email, telephone, and voicemail
- Researches and facilitates group rate tickets for performances outside Juilliard; communicates outside performances to the Division via a monthly newsletter
- Maintains bulletin board postings and updates bulletin board with guest artist and faculty bios/headshots and other important information and opportunities
- Supports Juilliard Dance Experience Days and Juilliard Summer Dance Intensive with studio preparation and day-to-day operations
- Maintains a neat, orderly, and well-stocked office space for the Division, including maintaining inventories, orders and arranges payment for medical supplies for division; inventories, picks up and distributes office supplies
- Other relevant duties as assigned
- Responsible for maintaining attendance records, taking attendance as needed for subs and guest artist classes and updating student files
- In collaboration with the Assistant Administrative Director, supports scheduling of studio reservations, student conferences, and studio monitor duties
- In support of the Division’s Directors, processing payments and tracking expenses as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong interest in the performing arts, arts administration, and/or higher education
- Understanding of the college environment and the ability to relate and respond to student, faculty, and guest artist concerns while working to further the mission & vision of the Dean and Director
- Ability to execute the daily physical labor associated with studio maintenance
- Familiarity and ease with audio/visual technology; ability to perform basic troubleshooting
- Extensive computer skills including typing, effective internet research, Microsoft Office, and ability to learn new programs quickly as needed
- Detail-oriented organizational skills
- Ability to function as a welcoming greeter for Division guests and to the public in person, on the phone, or on email
- Experience with college-level dance strongly preferred
