About the Role
Under general direction the Senior Support Worker works to support CLO Participants with high or complex needs to live as independently as possible in the community and enjoy the lifestyles of their choosing, applying established procedures, methods and guidelines to achieve outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
• Supports Participants to achieve goals and desires in all facets of their life through skill development.
• Actively contribute to the planning of plans and programs in addition to ensuring their effective implementation.
• Support a positive and homely enviroment, engaging person-centred active support and implementing person- centred plans and developmental programs to achieve goal outcomes for the Participants.
• Exercise initiative in the application of procedures and will establish goals and objectives to achieve outcomes for their work program or projects.
• Supervise lower-level classified employees and volunteers in day-to-day practices and may support the planning of others work in addition to their own.
To be Successful
• Experience in undertaking some complex operational work in specialised areas and identity need through developmental and functional assessments.
• Basic knowledge of Human Resources principles.
• Direct experience attained through previous engagements in the sector.
• Experience and understanding of staff leadership and development key principles.
• Flexible work practices including hours.
• Must be prepared wo work over a 24-hour, 7-day rotating roster.
Qualifications and Essential Licences
Current Drivers Licence
NDIS Worker Screening Check or willing to obtain
Working with Children Check or willing to obtain
Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
Tertiary qualifications in Disability or relevant field, or other relevant qualification with demonstrated equivalent experience and expertise to undertake the required duties
Must satisfy all Visa requirements to work in Australia
