Who you are:

We are seeking a detail oriented and analytical HR/Payroll Specialist for a Full Time role working in an administrative setting. As a member of the financial team, the HR/Payroll Specialist will play a key role in payroll processing, personnel file management, and employee benefits administration. The HR/Payroll Specialist will:

  • Process payroll and maintain personnel files 
  • Set up new hires and update employee records in payroll system 
  • Verify timesheets and enforce personnel policies 
  • Assist with budget preparation and expense analysis 
  • Support accounts payable and vendor invoice processing
  • Provide support for Workers Compensation
  • Maintain benefit plans and assist with annual updates 

 

What you need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • AA degree and 3 years of verifiable payroll/AP experience or 5 years of verifiable payroll/AP experience in a government setting 
  • Knowledge of fund accounting, payroll tax preparation, and fiscal operations 
  •  Extreme proficiency in spreadsheets, excel and accounting systems 
  • Current BLS/ALS certificate preferred
  • Clean DMV driving record and MACT auto insurance driving eligibility (determined by auto insurance carrier).

 

The position requires an awareness and keen appreciation of American Indian traditions, customs, and socioeconomic needs and the ability at all times to meet and deal effectively in contacts with Indian health organizations which requires tact, courtesy, discretion, resourcefulness and good judgment in handling functions of a sensitive nature.
