Duties

Performs work with professional knowledge of the theories, principles, practices of the library to select, organize, preserve, access, manage and disseminate info associated with patron services including for children, tech services, and automation.,Provides all members of the Military Community with reference/research using text and online searching principles, and reader's advisory dissemination of information, circulation, programming and library instruction, marketing, interlibrary loans.,Performs technical services functions including acquisitions, procurement, cataloging, processing, and accountability of materials. Performs automation services including ILS maintenance, network operations, and workstation and Internet issues.,Develops and implements long-range automation plans for the library within the parameters defined by the supervisory librarian.,Serves as first line supervisor of staff and conducts all personnel actions related to supervision. Assists chief librarian in overall management of the library. Selective dissemination of interlibrary loans, and a current web presence.,Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: - Possess a master's degree in library science, information services, or information management from an accredited college or university. - Possess one (1) year of progressively responsible work experience is desired which showcases the ability to perform patron/public services, technical services, and/or library automation service functions. - Must be familiar with office software products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Must have the ability to communicate orally and in writing. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": - Possess 4 or more years of library experience - Possess experience working with children/youth in a library setting - Possess experience in Education

Joint Base Lewis McChord is located in Washington State and the local commuting area is defined as locations that are on or within a 50-mile radius of the JBLM installation. Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
