As the Product Development Specialist, you'll be the critical bridge between creative concepts and flawless execution—ensuring every garment meets Sportiqe's exacting standards while keeping pace with our rapid growth. You’ll collaborate closely with our internal teams and 3rd party factories to ensure we manufacture the best possible apparel product. 


This job is right for you if you have a detail-focused lens to catch even the smallest discrepancies before they become a problem, plus the communication skills to address them professionally. 



HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE - PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST 

  • Responsible for the development of products from design handoff through production handoff including multiple seasonal collections and special make-up projects. 
  • Serve as technical liaison between internal teams and overseas factories, ensuring specs translate to flawless execution.
  • Support Sales, Design, and Operations leadership to ensure accurate and complete information for each project.
  • Create tech packs in PLM system with precise garment construction, measurements, and print placement details.
  • Develop flat sketches in Adobe Illustrator and spec custom trims/construction for specialized projects.
  • Review art boards pre-production to validate techniques are manufacturable.
  • Review lab dips, strike-offs, and samples for accurate measurements, construction, fabric colors, print size/placement, branding/labeling and packaging.
  • Responsible for maintaining style information in PLM System, including sample comments, approvals, etc.
  • Make minor to intermediate graphic design adjustments to artwork.

Requirements


WHO YOU ARE - PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

  

  • Degree in Fashion Design/Development or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years proven experience in apparel product development including construction, fit, sketches, and tech packs, particularly in the B2B sector. 
  • Strong knowledge of garment construction, especially cut & sew knits where your attention to detail can shine. 
  • Comfortable with independent problem solving, research and resourcefulness. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail and precision—you're known for catching errors others miss and communicating issues clearly before they escalate.
  • Knowledge of the entire product life cycle process from design handoff through production handoff. 
  • Knowledge of appliqué types is a plus.
  • You collaborate effectively across teams but do your best work in focused, heads-down sessions.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Illustrator and PLM experience required; Gerber Yunique preferred
  • Graphic design experience a plus.
  • This role is NOT the right fit for you if you prefer big-picture strategy over technical execution, get too easily frustrated by last-minute changes or shifting factory timelines, or struggle with ambiguity.
