Job Title: Vice President, Information Technology, POS Systems

 

Department: Information Technology, Point-of-Sale Systems

Reports To: Chief Operating Officer {COO) or Chief Executive Officer {CEO)

 

 

 

Position Overview:

 

The Vice President, Information Technology (VP of IT) is a senior leadership role responsible for developing and executing the organization's technology strategy. This executive will oversee the Information Technology (IT), Point-of- Sale (POS) Systems departments, ensuring seamless operations, technological innovation, and superior customer service experiences. Leading a team of 15+ employees, the VP of IT will drive strategic initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, cybersecurity, data management, and customer engagement across all company platforms.

Qualifications


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Technology Vision

  • Develop and implement a robust technology roadmap aligned with the company's long-term business objectives.
  • Lead the digital transformation initiatives to modernize IT infrastructure, enhance system reliability, and improve business processes.
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge in the industry.
  • Provide strategic guidance to executive leadership on IT trends, opportunities, and risks.

 

IT Operations & Security

  • Oversee the daily operations of the IT department, ensuring maximum uptime and optimal system performance.
  • Develop and enforce IT policies, standards, and security protocols to safeguard company data and infrastructure.
  • Direct disaster recovery planning, cybersecurity measures, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve IT-related workflows and operational efficiencies.
 

 

Point-of-Sale (POS) Systems & Digital Commerce

  • Ensure the seamless operation, security, and scalability of the POS system across all locations.
  • Lead POS enhancements to improve transaction efficiency, user experience, and data accuracy.
  • Work closely with finance and retail teams to optimize revenue through digital payments, e-commerce integration, and omnichannel strategies.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for POS system providers and service partners.

 

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of IT professionals, and POS specialists.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish clear performance metrics, training programs, and career development pathways.

 

Budgeting & Vendor Management

 

  • Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective technology investments and resource allocation.
  • Evaluate and negotiate contracts with third-party vendors, software providers, and IT service partners.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining high-quality IT service delivery.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of progressive Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior management role.
  • Proven experience managing IT infrastructure, POS systems, cybersecurity, and customer experience technologies.
  • Expertise in digital transformation, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and data analytics.
  • Strong understanding of industry regulations, compliance standards, and IT governance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to drive business objectives through technology.
