About the role

 

Do you have extensive Health and Safety experience in a high-risk construction or operational environment?  Do you want to be involved in TasNetworks’ largest project to date – the North West Transmission Development (NWTD) project?

 

An exciting opportunity exists in the TasNetworks Health & Safety team for a Senior Health & Safety Specialist.

This role will work closely with our major contractors and operational teams to provide support, specialist advice and guidance across all Health and Safety matters.  You must be proficient in applicable WHS Legislation, health and safety management systems and safety risk management.

The role will help set the standard for incident investigation, safety communication and complex project management.  You will bring innovation and contemporary thinking to the Health and Safety function and to our business more broadly.

You will provide leadership and support to two Health & Safety Specialists who will be working closely with you on the ground on the project.

 

About you

 

Ideally you will be based in the North/North West of Tasmania, given the location of the project.  We are open to Southern based candidates; however, you will need to be willing to travel frequently.

To succeed, you’ll bring tertiary H&S qualifications, extensive experience in high-risk industries, proven delivery of complex projects, strong contractor management capability and a deep understanding of safety systems, legislation and reporting.

You’ll be skilled in auditing, incident investigation, risk facilitation and producing high-quality reports, with excellent communication, collaboration and a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
