JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: IT Specialist – Health Applications
DEPARTMENT: Information Technology
CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Researches, analyzes, and supports Health system applications. Monitors the needs of the Health system. Works with IT and Health staff to meet the software needs of the clinic. Manages assigned projects.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Health Application Systems Skills:
- Maintains and supports electronic health system applications.
- Provides technical analysis, issue resolution, enhancements, and modifications to meet the needs of the clinic.
- Troubleshoots application issues and works with vendor to resolve the issue.
- Recommends modifications for the application to improve clinic workflow, efficiency, and productivity of clinic staff.
- Maintains interfaces from health system applications and troubleshoots issues in a timely manner.
- Assists with upgrade in the of health system applications.
- Organize and perform group training and cross-training activities related to Health Systems and general PC skills.
- Assists and maintains credentials of users and additional high security level tasks.
- Complies with HIPAA rules and maintains all patient information confidentially and securely.
Information Technology Skills:
- Work with Health Applications Coordinator to carry out IT initiatives related to Health Systems.
- Supports the Information Technology Department's strategic plans and attends IT meetings.
- Manage assigned projects and ensure projects are completed.
- Implement IT decisions and recommendations as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Combination of education (High School/GED, Associates Degree, Technical School/Certifications, or Continuing Ed credits.) and/or experience in support of Health system applications.
- Knowledgeable and proficient computer skills including use of word processing, using spreadsheets, internet and email.
- Familiar with clinical workflows and understanding the roles of a clinical practice.
- Prefer demonstrated knowledge in teambuilding and teamwork.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to identify bottlenecks and is proactive in resolving the situation.
- Must be dependable, have a great work ethic, possess initiative, be self-motivated and be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must submit to and successfully pass an extensive criminal background investigation.
- Valid driver's license and insurable.

SALARY LEVEL:
$59,384-$91,500
