Our Central office is looking for a full-time Medical Assistant Pump CGM Specialist to join the Clinical team!
The Medical Assistant (MA)-Pump/CGM Specialist serves as the liaison between pharmacies, patients, and their providers regarding insulin pump and CGMS orders. This role may occasionally need to obtain prior authorizations (PAs). This position may also assist with other clinical duties.
Key Functions include but are not limited to:
- Orders pumps and CGMS for assigned location(s); completes PAs and coordinates delivery as needed.
- Orders labs for patients as required by practitioner
- Administers the pump denials process which includes Letters of Necessity
- Uploads PAs and logs all patient interactions in the electronic medical records (EMR) system
- Answers Pumps phone line; returns all voicemails. May assist with walk-in patients.
- May assist with pump downloading duties as assigned
- Communicates with patients via the patient portal.
Additional Non-Essential Functions:
- Assists with calls on the emergency/MD line
- Assist with training of new employees
- May assist with faxes and mail to include collecting and routing electronic and paper faxes to appropriate department folder or employee, routing provider mail noting last visit information, and scanning documents into the patient file
- May assist in administering injections
- May assist with Floor MA duties during staffing shortages
- May act as the site’s point of contact for drug sample/drug rep management to include informing drug reps of drug sample needs, coordinating delivery, and maintaining the drug medication sample closet and drug medication inventory
- May occasionally assist with moving or lifting patients up to 50 pounds
- May assist with CGMS initiations including insertion, patient training, removal, result downloads for provider and cleaning/maintenance of devices.

Qualifications
Experience:
Required:
- 1 year of prior Medical Assistant experience
Preferred:
- 2+ years of prior Medical Assistant experience
- Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program; Certified or Registered Medical Assistant credentials
- Prior clinical/triage support experience.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
