Site Manager - Rehab is responsible for managing the daily operations of the center, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, staff engagement and financial performance.  Provides direct patient care services as warranted.  Understands and acts in accordance with Mission, Values and Planetree philosophy.  Supervises both the clinical and support staff at the site.   Facilitates positive working relationships with physicians, vendors, other SH departments and the community at large.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Administrative Oversight – Monitors performance of all clinical and support staff. Responsible for the daily operations of the department, including referral process management, staff scheduling, team meetings, and the inventory management of clinical and administrative supplies/equipment.  Assists in developing departmental policies and procedures within regulatory and/or accrediting guidelines and in cooperation with other outpatient rehab departments/facilities.  Coordination with departments throughout both agencies as applicable.  May serve on hospital and/or community committees.
  2. Fiscal Responsibility – Participates in development of annual budgets (operating & capital).  Evaluates and implements cost containment and revenue enhancement opportunities.  Retrieves and analyses data and metrics, reporting variances and corrective actions plans to supervisor on a regular basis.
  3. Human Resources – Performs annual performance evaluations of all site staff, ensuring that staff demonstrates all competencies.  If warranted, discusses the need for disciplinary action with department director and implements as per TSH procedures.   Actively participates in the recruitment and hiring functions including candidate evaluation, interviewing, shadowing opportunities and new employee orientation.  Adheres to all HR guidelines to ensure staff retention.  Approves, submits and monitors payroll/PTO.  Responsible for directing department volunteers. 
  4. Education – Assumes personal responsibility for continuing education and professional development. Directs the growth and development of staff via coaching, mentoring and providing appropriate educational opportunities. 
  5. Direct Patient Care – Provides direct patient care services, within licensed area of practice.  Understands delivery of Direct Access Care per the Connecticut state guidelines and ensures compliance with same.  Coordinates all patient care activities from referral through discharge.

    COMPETENCIES & WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS (e.g. license, registration, certification)

Must be licensed by the Connecticut Department of Public Health.  

Must have at least 5 years professional experience.  

Must have experience as senior therapist and/or other supervisory experience. 

Graduate of an accredited curriculum with a minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy.
