In this role, you'll:


Work within our Risk (Major Projects Support) Team within Safety, Risk and Assurance (SRA) Branch of Sydney Trains, and deployed to the Assurance and Readiness Team within Digital Systems Business Integration (DSBI) as part of the Digital Systems Program. 

 

This role will see you involved in a Significant Transport project which is technically complex in a fast-paced environment. This will see you providing professional risk management advice and services to business customers and external contractors,  promoting consistent and integrated risk management practices across the organisation to ensure compliance with Sydney Trains Safety Management System and regulatory requirements.

 

You will be accountable for the production and delivery safety assurance deliverables for complex and Significant safety and critical change and undertake technical safety risk assessment to inform risk-based decisions and support demonstration that all safety risks are reduced safe SFAIRP.

 

Your challenge will be to successfully manage complex internal, external and regulatory stakeholders in a fast-paced and fluid environment through effective verbal and written communication for the effective implementation of risk management.

 

This role is a hybrid role based in George St, Sydney CBD and Burwood (three minutes from the station) approximately 2-3 days a week.  Travel to other Transport offices for workshops and meetings will be as per Project requirements.

About you


You will have 5 + years professional experience and recognised for your track record in working on Significant and complex projects in the safety risk and assurance management in safety critical environment gained in Rail, oil, nuclear, mining, construction or similar environment. Experience in rail and  Transport is preferred. 

 

You will be able to demonstrate your experience gained in the application of risk assessment techniques to support risk-based decision making within a safety critical environment.

 

Your Tertiary qualifications will be in a relevant discipline and / or your equivalent industry-based experience will be at a senior professional level within a relevant workplace context such as risk and/or assurance.

 

You also possess the expertise the successfully engage with Stakeholder groups and the successful experience in the application of risk assessment techniques to support decision making.

 

This is an Award RC7 Temporary Fixed Term Full-Time role till 31/12/2026 based at Sydney George Street office and Burwood, working currently 2 to 3 days per week in the office, with flexibility through our cutting-edge hybrid working model!.
