Job Summary: This position manages accounting functions such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, etc. by providing leadership and direction to the function’s staff.

Qualifications and Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred 
  • Certified Public Accounting (CPA) required
  • Minimum seven years of applicable experience required
  • Three to four years of supervisory and management experience required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of business accounting principles, budget preparation, and strong business acumen
  • Advanced expert knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) as it applies to the industry and company
  • Advanced knowledge of the fundamental audit strategies that include policies, procedures, and best practices in addition to emerging audit practices and trends
  • Advanced knowledge of computerized ERP systems and understanding of the integration of accounting systems
  • Advanced understanding of MS Office products 
  • Strong research, problem-solving, and investigation skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, including both written and oral
  • Ability to work in fast fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with multiple departments and various levels of the organization
  • Excellent organizational, planning, multi-tasking, and time management skills, deadline-oriented
  • Ability to work independently, manage and develop a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness

 

Essential Functions:

  • Hires, develops, evaluates, and influences effective and consistent productivity and teamwork to ensure the delivery of Legendary Customer Service (LCS)
  • Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values-Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
  • Supports direct Supervisor, Finance Leaders, and other Leaders in the company through planning, coordination, and implementation of special internal financial reports, assigned projects, and activities
  • Responsible for the execution of accounting functions to include the monthly financial close, posting of month-end information, executing tax-related reporting processes, and the reconciliation of general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Provides accounting assistance to business units, vendor payments, and responds to financial questions/concerns to meet business needs
  • Collaborates with other business units to support the successful execution of vendor payments and payment terms
  • Assigns, delegates, and coordinates the work of accounting staff to ensure department objectives are timely met
  • Answers and resolves escalated customer (internal/external) questions and needs
  • Compiles and analyzes financial information and departmental metrics
  • Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned       

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and development; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Travel: 

  • Travel up to 15% and some overnight travel may be required

Physical Requirements:

  • This position involves extended periods in a stationary position; additionally, occasional movement inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets, etc. 
  • This role frequently communicates with others, and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines
  • Occasionally moves materials or equipment weighing up to 15lbs.

Work Environment:

  • This job is generally performed in a professional office environment
  • Frequently works at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
