Job Description:
SUMMARY
The Cash Processing Technician is responsible for the secure, accurate, and timely handling of large amounts of cash and financial instruments. This role involves processing currency collections, replenishing machines, performing daily vault accountability, and ensuring all ledgers are balanced. The position requires a high degree of dependability and attention to detail, as well as the ability to work in a regulated, team-oriented environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Process and verify currency counts from collections, ATM replenishments, and redemption machines.
Perform data entry of cash receipts, including proper coding and filing, to maintain accurate records.
Conduct daily and monthly reconciliations for bank accounts and cash on hand.
Manage vault accountability by maintaining accurate inventory counts and levels.
Research and reconcile any unidentified cash or variances found during processing.
Operate cash logistics systems and other computer-assisted currency processing equipment.
Package and unpack currency, including strapping and sealing bags, in preparation for transport or vault storage.
Perform basic accounting and counting skills to ensure accuracy.
Report all daily variances or discrepancies to a Processing Supervisor and Director of Processing.
Communicate professionally with internal departments and field staff to resolve processing issues.
Assist with other duties and projects as assigned to support department operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: 2–3 years of prior cash-handling experience is preferred, ideally from a banking, casino, or other financial industry background.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel is required for data entry, reconciliation, and reporting.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with colleagues and customers.
Instructions: Must be able to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions precisely.
Analytical Skills: Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical abilities are required to manage priorities and workflow.
Teamwork: Must be able to work independently while also functioning effectively as a member of a team.
Adaptability: A versatile and enthusiastic approach is necessary for working with constantly changing priorities.
Age: Must be at least 21 years of age.
Licensing: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Terminal Handler's License from the Illinois Gaming Board or other relevant state authority.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Standing/Sitting: Frequently required to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods.
Manual Dexterity: Continually required to use hands and fingers for tasks like operating a keyboard and counting money.
Physical Strength: Continually required to lift and push weights up to 40 pounds.
Movement: Regularly required to bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and balance.
Work Environment: The work environment typically has a moderate noise level.
Stress: Must be able to handle pressure and meet strict deadlines while maintaining accuracy.

Base Pay Range:
$18.00 - $20.00
This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. The base salary will depend on a number of factors such as: qualifications, experience level, and skillset.
