Reports To: Shipping & Receiving Supervisor

Summary: 

The Rigging Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing all rigging operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely movement, installation, and alignment of heavy equipment, tooling, and machinery. This role acts as the central point of coordination between Testing, Shipping, safety, and production teams to execute rigging projects in compliance with company standards and safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

1. Plan and schedule all rigging and machinery shipping activities to support production and project timelines.
2. Review drawings, lift plans, and specifications to determine rigging requirements, equipment selection, and load capacities.
3. Prepare and process all related shipping documentation, including BOLs, packing lists, and ERP system updates.
4. Coordinate rigging crews, operators, and material handling equipment (cranes, hoists, forklifts, slings, etc.) to execute safe and efficient moves.
5. Conduct pre-lift meetings, safety briefings, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.
6. Serve as the main liaison between departments, contractors, and leadership to ensure alignment on scheduling and scope.
7. Inspect, maintain, and verify rigging gear integrity before each use to ensure equipment readiness.
8. Support the training and mentoring of rigging and shipping personnel on proper lifting techniques and equipment use.
9. Identify and implement opportunities to improve rigging efficiency, material flow, and overall safety performance.
10. Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area in accordance with 6S and warehouse safety standards.

Requirements:

1. 2+ years of related shipping/material handling experience
2. High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
3. Great attention to detail
4. Ability to safely drive a forklift and overhead crane
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications

6. Strong written and oral communication skills

7. Ability to multi-task, while maintaining organization
8. Ability to read, write and complete basic math

Work Environment: This position operates in a plant environment.   

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in various environments (shop floor, outdoors, confined spaces).
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing.

Expected Hours of Work: This position regularly requires daily overtime hours and frequent weekend work.
