Job Summary
The Machinist IV is a senior-level machinist responsible for operating a wide range of machining equipment, producing high-quality parts, and assisting in daily shop operations. This role also trains and mentors less experienced machinists.
Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and written/verbal instructions.
Set up, operate, troubleshoot, and adjust multiple machining operations.
Select tooling, write/edit programs, and make machining calculations.
Maintain knowledge of all equipment and processes within the department.
Apply Lean Manufacturing and 5S practices to improve productivity.
Meet established quality and production standards.
Assist with cross-training and mentoring lower-level machinists.
Perform inspections and verify materials/products meet specifications.
Maintain a clean and safe work area; follow all safety procedures.
Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent
5–7 years of machining experience
Strong machine shop math skills
Ability to operate multiple types of machining equipment
Ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and train others
Must own personal hand tools and measuring tools
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Standing, sitting, and stooping throughout the shift
Moderate walking and climbing
Ability to carry tools and inspection equipment
Work Environment
Manufacturing and shop environment
PPE and steel-toed footwear required
Regular, reliable attendance is essential
Schedule
Monday–Friday
Occasional evenings/weekends as needed.
