Coffeehouse Manager en Dallas Baptist University

GENERAL OBJECTIVES: 

The role of the Coffeehouse Director includes organizing and facilitating daily operations of the DBU Coffeehouse locations and catering extension and leading the staff in pursuing excellence in customer service and quality specialty coffee. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Work experience as a Cafe Manager or Barista
• Hands-on experience (training preferred) with professional café-grade coffee equipment
• Strong communication skills paired with the ability to manage a team of 20-25 baristas
• Customer service experience and skills
• Solution-oriented in trouble shooting and problem solving

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities listed below are pertinent to both of the DBU Coffeehouse locations and the DBU Coffeehouse catering extension.

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the Coffeehouse.
• Interviewing, onboarding, and training new employees.
• Scheduling weekly shift assignments for the Coffeehouse locations.
• Train employees on processes, procedures, and proper use of coffee equipment.
• Coordinate vendor and partner relationships.
• Maintain updated inventory logs for all products and vendors weekly.
• Maintain updated records of daily, weekly and monthly revenues and expenses.
• Maintain an updated menu with proper pricing with changing seasonal menus and specials.
• Maintain quality customer service and quality coffee through continued training and coffee education for the staff of 20-25 baristas.
• Ensure all cafe areas are presentable and inviting for returning customers and new customers.
• Nurture relationships with customers to increase loyalty and reputation.
• Increase profitability and boost customer engagement (marketing and community events).
• Coordinate catering events and ensure that they are carried out with excellence.
• Cover any and all open shifts due to extenuating circumstances for baristas.
• Pursue future projects, ventures, and milestones of the Coffeehouse and its extensions for the DBU community.
