We are looking for dedicated and experienced teachers to serve as Lead Teachers for the current school year. We anticipate appointing four positions:
- One for SOAR and Inspire
- One for SAIL
- One for Discovery and Explorers
- One for Pathfinders
This stipended position is designed to provide leadership and coordination in various school-wide initiatives that support student success, teacher development, and a positive school culture.
This work will be completed before and after school, and/or during prep periods.
Key Responsibilities May Include:
- Community Outing Coordination: Oversee scheduling, logistics, and communication for community outings.
- Event Planning: Organize enrichment events (examples could include Johnny the K, the Bionic Project, Animal Adventures, etc.).
- Assessment Support: Assist with coordination and administration of assessments including the Woodcock Johnson, MCAS, and MCAS-ALT, as applicable.
- IEP Support: Meet with new teachers to review student IEPs and ensure understanding of accommodations and services.
- Team Participation: Attend and contribute to program small team meetings.
- Attendance Oversight: Monitor daily attendance and flag concerns for follow-up.
- PBIS Leadership:
- Review behavior data and identify trends
- Plan and promote school-wide spirit days
- Support implementation of the CORE Values Matrix throughout all areas of the school
- Staff Morale & Events:
- Coordinate staff appreciation efforts, events and staff morale initiatives
- Mentoring Committee Participation:
- Meet regularly with mentors
- Support the induction and development of new staff
- Curriculum Review & Innovation:
- Pilot, research, review, and recommend curriculum or instructional strategies aligned with school goals
- Student of the Week: Facilitate student of the week process and recognition.
Other Duties as Assigned: Flexibility to support emerging needs or initiatives throughout the school year.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated leadership ability and collaboration skills
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Knowledge of IEPs, assessment practices, and curriculum development
- Passion for school culture, staff morale, and student success
- At least three years’ experience in a teaching role at Shore
