California Faucets is looking to bring on a PVD - 1st Shift Sandblaster. This role is based on site in our Huntington Beach, CA facility. The hours for this position will be Monday through Friday, full-time from 5:15AM to 2:00PM.

Job Description/Essential Duties:


As a Sandblaster, you will sandblast with the use of high-pressure air equipment to clean and prepare surfaces such as brass or other types of metals.

In addition to these duties, the Sandblaster will:

· Sandblast by manually directing a nozzle over the surface of large parts or inserting arms through glove-fitted cabinet openings and manipulating small parts under nozzle for specified interval.

· Monitor and maintain sandblasting equipment.

· Ensure safety guidelines are being met.

· Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Environmental and Safety Considerations:


· Possible exposure to heat, cold, dust, and moderate noise when working indoors.

· May be required to work with power tools and forced air occasionally.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


People Interface:

The position requires contact primarily within the production department on routine matters.


Decision Making:

The position requires working from detailed instructions as well as the use of judgment to plan and perform general decisions to solve a problem or select a course of action for a standard or recognized method of operation.


Supervision Received:

Under general supervision of the Production Manager, assignments are both task-oriented and objective-oriented. Follows established procedures for routine work; receives specific instruction on non-routine problems.


Accountabilities:

After adequate training, the position requires a level of accountability to complete a pre-determined amount of work or units completed per shift.



Requirements

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or GED certificate desired.

· At least six (6) months working experience performing similar work in a related field, with knowledge of sandblasting procedures.

· Familiarity with state-of-the art coating systems to ensure proper sandblasting procedures of parts.

· Familiarity with different cabinet types along with different types of media and functional use.


Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and use hands to finger. The employee is frequently required to stand extended periods of time; reach with hands and arms below and above shoulder; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist or crawl. The employee may be required to lift/carry 1-50 pounds when necessary. The employee must be able to visually identify small finish imperfections.


PLEASE NOTE: Management reserves the right to change or otherwise modify the functions of this rotational and combined position description to meet the needs of the Company. This includes multiple positions within the Finishing Department that the Company proactively rotates for health and safety purposes and when staffing needs dictate. Employees with the skillsets required to perform any of the following positions can and will be rotated into the proper Finishing position under the direction of the Finishing Supervisor as they have been cross-trained to do so.
