PURPOSE: This position is responsible for providing engineering support to a manufacturing line at our Renewal by Andersen location in Cottage Grove, MN. Primary focus will be on monitoring, controlling, and improving existing manufacturing processes, and to ensure customer and business needs are met. The ideal candidate for this position is an innovative thinker and has a passion for operational excellence.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Utilize effective lean process design techniques to optimize overall manufacturing system performance by providing innovative solutions that integrate within the value streamPlan, organize, and lead technical aspects of large-scale assignments to successful conclusionCreate training tools, documents, and standard operating procedures for production processes ensuring consistent manufacturabilityProvide recommendations regarding the viability of developed design solutions that relate to new or current processesFacilitate cross-functional team meetings, kaizens, and Process System Design eventsDrive corrective action through root cause identification and structured problem solvingPartner with the Safety group to ensure all new or modified processes meet or exceed corporate safety requirementsAccurately assess ergonomic conditions within the manufacturing environment and provide practical solutions to eliminate ergonomic riskExhibit persuasiveness to sell continuous improvement ideas to value stream management and delivery partnersStay well-informed on industry technology developments and explore their use in Andersen productsProvide operational technical support for existing applications and processesEnsure built in quality by using DMAIC tools: Process mapping, process capability, C&E Matrix, fishbone diagram, FMEA, MSA, DOE, Control PlansQUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:BS in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or equivalent engineering experience7+ years of engineering experience preferred with mechanical aptitudeUnderstands and applies methodologies associated with project planning and experience working with collaborative, cross functional teamsStrong aptitude in problem solving using analytical tools and making process improvementsCommunicate effectively through written, verbal, listening, and presentation skillsKnowledge and experience with quality systems, statistical process control, process capability and lean manufacturing toolsAbility to effectively apply acquired knowledge and skills to a variety of assignments within a moderate range of technical difficultyStrong experience in building and maintaining relationshipsExperience with change management strategiesKnowledge of 2D & 3D solid modeling preferred (AutoCad/Inventor)COMPENSATION: Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation package for your preferred role during the hiring process. Successful candidates in this role are expected to earn $99,000 - $153,000 annually.
