Description

Lead, Build, and Launch Advanced Thermal Technologies

At Advanced Cooling Technologies (ACT), we create innovative thermal solutions used in spacecraft, military platforms, medical devices, precision instruments, and high-performance commercial systems. As a three-time Best Places to Work in PA winner, we take pride in our engineering excellence, collaborative culture, and employee-focused environment.

We’re seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer who combines strong technical capability with project leadership and team mentorship. In this role, you will guide a small team of engineers and technicians while driving the successful transition of complex thermal products from development into efficient, scalable production.

This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands-on work and leading others—someone who thrives in a dynamic environment where they can make a direct impact on products, processes, and people.

What You’ll Do

Lead Projects and People

  • Provide day-to-day guidance, tasking, and mentorship for engineers and technicians
  • Manage personnel-related responsibilities within the team
  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met
  • Serve as the primary engineering contact for internal teams, suppliers, and customers

Own New Product Introduction (NPI)

  • Lead smooth transitions of product designs from Product Development into full production
  • Identify all manufacturing, quality, and customer requirements
  • Ensure manufacturing readiness across processes, documentation, and tooling

Technical Leadership & Engineering Excellence

  • Design and develop manufacturing tooling, fixtures, and processes
  • Create procedures, travelers, and work instructions for the production floor
  • Analyze workflow, cycle times, and layouts to improve efficiency
  • Troubleshoot fabrication and testing issues and guide the team toward solutions
  • Evaluate test results and verify compliance with customer and project requirements

This is a hands-on leadership role—you’ll spend time on the production floor, in design software, and collaborating with teams across the company.

Requirements

What You Bring

  • U.S. Person status (required for ITAR compliance)
  • B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3+ years of engineering experience in a technical environment
  • Proficiency with CAD, FEA, and CFD tools
  • Hands-on experience in mechanical fabrication, measurement, and data acquisition
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to balance technical depth with project and people leadership
