POSITION SUMMARY:

The Multimedia ContentCreator and Asset Manager, Advancement Communications captures and developsmultimedia assets ranging from photos, video and design layouts in order tosupport the efforts of the Division of Marketing and Communications ascoordinated with the Division of University Advancement. The individual usesimagination, talent and skill to create photo compositions, video elements,graphics, layouts, and design materials for a variety of print and electronicmedia. The position also properly identifies and manage departmental assetsthat can be used in an advancement context, maintaining specific archives andtags for that purpose in a shared Digital Asset Management System. TheMultimedia Content Creator and Asset Manager works collaboratively with allunits within the Division of Marketing and Communications as well as numerouscampus colleagues.

DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:

Photography & VisualStorytelling: Capture compelling photography for alumni or campus events,students benefitting from philanthropy, faculty and academic program outcomesfor advancement, and discrete campaigns coordinated by advancement. Edit andretouch images to meet brand standards and accessibility guidelines. Maintainphotography equipment and manage studio or on-location setups. Assist withvideo content acquisition and creation in support of both social media andvideo teams, in DMC and in Advancement.

Graphic Design & Layout:Design print and digital materials. Collaborate with writers, marketers, anddepartments to develop visual concepts that align with strategic goals. Ensureall designs adhere to university brand guidelines and accessibility standards.Prepare files for print production and digital distribution.

Repurpose collateral createdfor enrollment or student life purposes for advancement use, maintaining brandconsistency and matched to campaign needs as defined by Advancement.

In the Division’s digitalasset management system, maintain records and tags appropriate for primaryadvancement use and maintain those resources as needed.

Completes other duties as assigned.



REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum qualifications:


Bachelor’s degree in Photography, GraphicDesign, Visual Arts, Communications, or related field from an accredited institution.

1 to 3 years of experiencein a fast-paced market-focused office environment, designing around messagingand brand presentation.

Note: An individual with a background in visual art may haveexperience that is relevant, particularly if working as a designer in an agencyenvironment. This may substitute for some of the above education.

Preferred qualifications:

3 to 5 years related experience.

Valid PA Driver’slicense in good standing.

Experience in working inmulti-function creative teams. 

Experience working increative services and design in higher ed or similarly multifaceted non-profitin a metro media area. 

Alternately, thesuccessful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience andtraining, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to performthe essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, thefollowing: 

Fluency with designprinciples for print and digital media.

3+ years of professional experience inphotography, graphic design, and multimedia content creation, preferably inhigher education or nonprofit sectors. 

Proficiency in industryleading design/content creation programs.

Experience with digitalasset management platforms.

Experience with projectmanagement platforms.
 
Strong organizational skillsand attention to detail. 

Excellent interpersonal andcommunication skills. 

Ability to manage multipleprojects and meet deadlines in a collaborative environment. 

Preferred Skills:

Experience working in highereducation advancement.

Videography and videoediting capabilities.

Familiarity withaccessibility standards for digital media and print.

Understanding of FERPA andother privacy considerations in educational settings.

Knowledge of printproduction processes and specifications.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with theUniversity Community.
