The Arborist Inventory Specialist is responsible for collecting, maintaining, and analyzing data on urban and rural tree populations to support sustainable forestry, landscape planning, and public safety. This role combines technical arboricultural knowledge with GIS and data management skills to assist in the effective stewardship of tree assets.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
· Data Collection: ID tree species onsite and report the following: Species, Size, Condition, and Location on our inventory app.
· Ability to recognize diseases or Trim requirements.
· Conduct tree inventories using GPS/GIS-enabled technology to document species, size, health, location, and maintenance needs.
· Communicate with Site Supervisors, Crew Leaders and Office Staff.
· Assess tree health, structure, and potential risk factors; recommend treatment or removal when necessary.
· Maintain and update digital tree inventory databases.
· Prepare maps, reports, and presentations for internal use and community outreach.
· Provide support in developing tree management and planting plans.
· Ensure compliance with municipal tree ordinances and relevant environmental regulations.
· Assist with data collecting related to carbon sequestration, canopy coverage, and biodiversity.
Required Skills & Qualifications
· Ability to use GPS inventory on IPad Field App; Tech savvy is a plus.
· Ability and flexibility to work accurately, and independently in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong knowledge of tree biology, pest and disease identification, and pruning standards.
· Ability to read and interpret maps, aerial imagery, and landscape plans.
· Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
· Effective oral and written communication via telephone, text & email.
· Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
· Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
· Strong organizational skills/ Attention to detail.
· Ability to read and follow GIS data and maps.
· Problem-solving skills.
· Prior tree experience (is a plus) but not required to apply.
· Current CA driver license and outstanding record.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Tech Savvy
· Arbor Note experience is beneficial.
· Bilingual (English/ Spanish) is a plus but not required to apply.
· Proven ability to drive brand recognition
Clean Driving record.
Physical Requirements and working conditions
The physical requirements described herein are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Physical ability to walk long distances, carry equipment, and occasionally work in uneven terrain.
Combination of fieldwork and office/data entry is required to be able to complete the tasks at hand.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week Monday – Friday (may include occasional weekends) Pay Rate: Hourly
