Description
The Department of Communication, Language, and Literature invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor in Communication beginning in the fall of 2026. The successful applicant will have pedagogical experience in undergraduate communication and expertise in a field such as media, strategic communication, organizational communication, or public relations. Teaching duties will vary based on applicant qualification and will include major courses as well as general education courses in Human Communication.
Essential Functions:
- Teaching 24 credits per year or four courses per semester
- Scholarship as described by the Boyer Model, such as, but not limited to, conference presentations and peer-reviewed publications
- Mentoring and advising undergraduate students
- Serving on assigned university committees
- Building on the strength of the existing program through recruitment efforts and curriculum revision
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Earned Ph.D. in Communication or ABD and near completion
- Experience teaching undergraduate students, preferably at a Christian liberal arts university
- Ability to clearly articulate the integration of faith and learning in the communication classroom
- Ability to explain the value of a liberal arts education to a flourishing Christian life, to the church community, to our culture, and to employers.

Compensation
The salary will be determined based on the educational background and experience of the candidate.
