Job Description:

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for performing all technical activities required to ensure safe and efficient operation of the hospital's dialysis equipment.
  • A sound knowledge of special water systems for hemodialysis is essential.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance of Reverse Osmosis and De-ionization of special water systems, including bacterial and pyrogen testing in accordance with the CSA standards.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for machine set up and take down for acute treatments. 
  • Candidates are required to rotate between the CVH site, Renal Care Centre, South Mississauga Dialysis Centre and Mississauga Hospital.
  • Evening and weekend work is required. Candidates are also required to meet on call requirements both weekdays and weekends.

Qualifications:

  • A diploma from a recognized community college specializing in Engineering and/or Dialysis technology.
  • Applicants with experience in repair and routine maintenance of hemodialysis machines, particularly the Fresenius 5008 is an asset
  • Demonstrated leadership and effective communication skills are essential for success in this position.
  • Demonstrated independent work ethic and effective time management skills
  • Must be able to attend training off-site for up to two weeks at a time if necessary
