Responsibilities:

The Supplier and Grievance Specialist ensures supplier compliance and active participation across Apical’s sustainability programs, including Apical Anchor, PSEP, CARE, TTP, and EUDR. The role focuses on supplier screening, data collection and verification, traceability management and Grievance handling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with suppliers through sustainability programs (PSEP, CARE, TTP) to promote and ensure compliance with environmental and social standards.

  • Conduct supplier screenings and collect relevant data, including supply chain traceability, to support risk assessment and monitoring.

  • Serve as the main point of contact for stakeholders regarding grievance mechanisms, including communication and resolution processes.

  • Support on-the-ground verification activities at mills and plantations to assess compliance with PSEP requirements and grievance-related investigations.

  • Maintain and update traceability and grievance databases, ensuring accurate, timely, and comprehensive supply chain data.

  • Prepare reports, identify compliance or data gaps, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts in supplier engagement and data management processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum 3-4 years of relevant experience in supplier engagement, traceability, and grievance mechanism handling.

  • Demonstrated ability to collect, verify, and analyze data, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • In-depth knowledge of sustainability standards and traceability systems, particularly within the palm oil sector.

  • Experience in conducting field verifications and effectively managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

  • Willingness to travel and work across different time zones as required.
