Who could you be at GHD?

The Hydrogen and Hydrocarbon team is on the lookout for our next graduate in 2026!  Based out of our Brisbane office, and with a degree in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical/Process Engineering with an interest in Project Management, your passion for working in a team, supporting the delivery of complex engineering solutions and improving operational efficiency will serve you well in this role. 

You will also have the opportunity to work with specialist engineers as they deliver projects in traditional oil and gas and future energy sectors.  You will work for a range of clients from startup companies to some of the world’s largest oil and gas producers, supporting projects that meet Australia’s energy needs.

Here’s a bit more about what you’ll be doing:

• Assist in developing project plans, timelines, and deliverables across sectors like energy, transport, water, civil infrastructure, and defense.
• Supporting project managers and project directors in project delivery.
• Support communication with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure alignment and smooth delivery.
• Help manage contracts, track compliance, and support procurement processes.
• Identify potential risks early and assist in developing mitigation strategies.
• Prepare progress reports, meeting minutes, and project documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor project budgets and assist in financial reporting and forecasting.
• Some technical work to progress your career so that you’ll be eligible to apply to become a Registered Professional Engineer Queensland in the future.

Here’s what to expect, step by step:

• Screening: We review applications as they come in, but be mindful that the bulk of our screening happens after applications close, so don’t worry if you don’t hear from us right away. 
• Video interviews: If you make it through the first stage, you’ll record some answers to a few straightforward questions. This helps us get a sense of your communication style and what excites you about GHD.
• Meet the team: Next, you’ll have a face-to-face or virtual interview with your prospective team. We’ll chat through some behavioural based questions to learn more about your skills and experience. It’s also a chance for you to get to know us!
• Psychometric assessments: These quick tests give us a glimpse into how you like to work and your strengths in relation to the role, complementing what we learn during your interview.
• Offer: Congratulations! If you’re successful, we’ll talk through all the finer details, like salary, your start date, and our background checking process.
