Wood Minerals & Metals team is currently delivering critical metals projects, including Copper, Nickel, Lithium, Vanadium, Rare Earths, and Base Metals. This portfolio of projects ranging from studies through to EPCM packages working on developments in Australia and internationally – Australia through to Europe, Middle east Africa and Asia.
We have a current urgent short-term role that would suit a Lead Electrical Engineer looking for a contract role from December for approximately 6 months.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Functional Manager, in partnership with EPCM Engineering Manager . As a Lead Electrical Engineer, you will be part of a project / study team, where your role will be to provide technical direction, collaborating and working closely with our client team on defining technical needs.
In addition duties will include (but not limited to):
- Leading a team of highly skilled electrical engineers, manage time, resources, and people-hours for the project
- Mentor, support and coach your team in their professional development pathways
- Responsible for ensuring products, equipment, materials, etc. are designed and developed to the highest standard
- Support the development and delivery of the technical assurance framework
- Participate in or lead incident investigations as required
- Collaboration with key stakeholders in the execution and delivery of contracted activities
- Leads workshops such as Hazop, Safop, Constructability, Peer Review, Hazod, etc
- Works with project groups as an expert technical advisor on designs, processes, and engineering methods

Qualifications
This opportunity is looking for those with an experience within engineering consultancy, EPCM industry, particularly in resources sector ideally within mineral processing projects. Your skills and experience in working complex projects, have seen your expertise come through in providing effective solutions and building strong stakeholder relations. In addition, this role is seeking;
- Formal qualifications in Electrical Engineering or similar from a recognised tertiary institution
- Chartership, Professional Engineer (PE) status or equivalent relevant professional license/registration from a recognised national or industry engineering institution is high regarded
- Ability to discover issues and recommend solutions to technical and commercial issues uncovered during course of performing assignments.
- Ability to initiate the exchange of required technical concepts and information with the Design staff and other disciplines.
- Demonstrates ability to affectively manage resources (personnel, equipment, materials etc), and to motivate and mentor others
- Demonstrates skills in problem solving, team building, total quality management
- Possess an in-depth knowledge of the various Business Units, Functions, Sectors and services offered within business area, a good understanding of other Wood business offerings and strong ability to network and connect internal stakeholders
