Description
Position Overview: The Band Saw Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining band saw machines to cut materials (such as Pipe, Angle, Channel, I-Beam and Flat bar) to specified dimensions. This role ensures accurate cuts, adherence to safety standards, and efficient production to meet customer and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

Set up and adjust band saw equipment according to job specifications and work orders.

Measure, mark, and align materials using measuring tools, templates, and work instructions.

Operate band saw safely to cut raw materials to precise dimensions.

Inspect cuts for accuracy, quality, and conformity to specifications.

Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.

Perform routine maintenance on band saw equipment (blade changes, lubrication, adjustments).

Identify and report defective materials or unsafe conditions.

Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations.

Assist with loading and unloading materials as needed.

Keep accurate records of production output and material usage.
Qualifications
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma, equivalent, or two (2) years work experience.
Qualifications:

Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience (preferred).

Ability to read a tape measure.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and measuring instruments (tape measure, calipers, micrometers).

Basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions.

Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.

Ability to lift up to [50 lbs] and stand for extended periods.
Work Environment:

Manufacturing or shop floor setting.

Exposure to noise, moving mechanical parts, and occasionally dust or fumes.

Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and gloves.
