Assistant Director of Nursing 

  • Full-time. 

  • Starting salary: $70,000-95,000/yr. Depending on experience.

About the Role 

As an Assistant Director of Nursing at Columbine West, you will: 

  • Work directly under the supervision of the Director of Nursing

  • Supervise CNA's which includes conducting performance reviews, clinical education, and disciplinary action as appropriate.

  • Maintain diplomatic relations with residents, families, staff, and physicians while leading by example and facilitating a multidisciplinary approach to enhance care quality. 

  • Monitor nursing competency, assess care quality, tracks and reports data on wounds and pressure ulcers, and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and improvement plans. 

  • Provide clinical evaluations, oversee admissions and discharges, monitor labs, and ensure proper immunization programs, including flu, pneumonia, and TB testing. 

  • Update policies, stay current on long-term care trends, follow pharmacy consultant recommendations, and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. 

  • Participate in Medicare/IDT meetings, attend other designated committees, and compile/ report data for Quality Improvement initiatives. 

What We're Looking For

Education and Experience:

  • Must possess at a minimum a bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and possess a clear unencumbered license from the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse. 

  • 1+ years of related experience and/or training. 

  • Knowledge of the aging process, dementia, and disabilities preferred. 

  • Experience working with geriatric population in a long-term care facility, assisted living facility, or other related health care facility preferred. 

Skills:  

  • In-depth knowledge of aging-related health issues, care practices, and standards specific to elderly residents. 

  • Ability to lead, mentor, and manage nursing staff effectively while fostering teamwork and professional growth. 

  • Familiarity with federal and state regulations governing geriatric care and long-term care facilities. 

  • Proficiency in implementing and monitoring quality improvement programs to ensure high standards of care. 

  • Strong ability to communicate with residents, families, staff, and interdisciplinary teams with empathy and clarity.

Our Total Rewards package includes a salary range of between $70,000 - $95,000/yr. DOE
