What you will be doing in this role?

The Associate Director is responsible for managing the vision of the Sterile Processing department by developing the strategic and operational plans to achieve quality patient care outcomes, improvement of service levels and reduction of cost. Manages all activities related to vendors/equipment/instrument decontamination, processing and sterilization to meet the needs of all customers and ensures all processes are compliant with applicable standards and regulations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develops and evaluates programs resulting in increased motivation, competency and effectiveness of staff. Delegates daily management of programs, practices and initiatives to appropriate supervisors. Ensures standards of human resource and labor management are met and in compliance in all Sterile Processing areas. Organizes, directs daily operations of the activities and initiatives in support of the Sterile Processing department. Responsible for providing expertise, leadership and direction related to these initiatives.
  • Provides department wide education and leadership to support a culture that is engaging and passionate about optimizing patient experience. Role model and fosters environment of integrity and service of excellence. Develops and maintains effective relationships and communications with Physicians, Operating Room leaders and clinical staff. Collaborates with other members of the management team to identify appropriate operational strategies and achieve efficient and measurable outcomes

Qualifications

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Business, or Healthcare Administration- Required.
  • At least eight (8) years in Sterile Processing Unit or Perioperative Environment
  • At least five (5) years in a managerial role in Sterile Processing Dept / Perioperative Environment
  • Valid Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
