We are seeking an Activities Director to assist in managing all aspects of the Skilled Nursing Facility's activities including scheduling, safety, staffing and compliance with state regulations. You are responsible for ensuring that the quality of life for all residents will be enhanced through activities.

 

About the job: 

 

  • Demonstrate leadership by ensuring accountability and PRS Core Values are upheld across the department; understand and advocate for resident rights in all operations and decisions.
  • This position is responsible for activities in Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing, supervises the Memory Care Coordinator and 2 Activities Assistants.
  • Supervise, schedule, and train staff and volunteers; facilitate recruitment and onboarding of volunteers from both the campus and the broader community.
  • Direct, develop, plan, and implement activities and monthly event calendars that meet resident needs; coordinate in-room and group programs, Resident Council Meetings, and collaborate with nursing and physical therapy to support individualized resident engagement.
  • Maintain documentation and compliance with State and Federal regulations; stay current on regulatory changes; create and manage the annual activity department budget; maintain funding resources and coordinate community-based partnerships.
  • Provide regular staff in-services; attend CQI, QA, and Service Plan meetings; be knowledgeable of emergency procedures; serve as MOD (Manager on Duty) on a rotating weekend basis.

 

Salary: $47,000 - $57,000 / annually DOE

 

 About you: 

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a social or recreational program within the past five years, one year of which was full-time in a patient activities program in a health care setting OR Occupational therapist, art therapist, music therapist, dance therapist, recreation therapist or occupational therapy assistant certification is required.
  • Familiarity with all state policies and regulations regarding Health Care Center operations as well as state regulations in regard to activities requirements is required.
  • High decision-making skills involving the analysis of the facts of a situation and the determination of what actions should be taken within the limits of standard procedures.
  • Valid driver’s license and meet Pacific Retirement Services' (PRS’s) Employment Driver Guidelines.
  • Current and valid CPR/AED and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Complete the State of NM 40-hour Activities Director course, or be nationally certified
